  • This is a joint venture between St Mark's Anglican Church in Mzuzu, Malawi, Africa and St Peter's Anglican Church in Cobourg,Ontario, Canada to help the children of Mzuzu, many of whom are homeless and orpaned by AIDS and Malaria. In addition there are many other social issues like unemployment, under employment, widespread poverty, and few good educational opportunities.

  • NAIROBI, 10 November 2010 (IRIN) - When a child loses a parent to HIV/AIDS, grief counselling helps with the trauma of loss, but when the child is both poor and orphaned, the chances of a fulfilling life are significantly diminished.

    Studies have found high levels of psychological distress among such orphans, and suggest interventions to improve their mental wellbeing. Here are some ways to minimize trauma among these children:
